I was fortunate enough to choose a career that I love. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and have been practicing ever since. I completed my masters in Special Education with an Early Childhood emphasis in May of 2016. I have worked in pediatrics for the bulk of my career which has spanned over 30 years.
Exercise has always been an important part of my life. I began doing yoga around four years ago and quickly realized the benefits of yoga; that there is so much to gain from being kind to your body. I love the calming and opening effect that it has. I think everyone can benefit from yoga. I know I have so much more to learn and hope to continue my journey in my yoga practice.
I currently work in early childhood with children with special needs. My hope is to use this in my practice to help the children that I work with increase their body awareness and sense of self so they can learn the tools necessary to assist with self- regulation.
